Prometheus: Trailer

Sci-fi stans are you ready??? Here it is finally the trailer for Ridley Scott's upcoming and hotly anticipated film 'Prometheus'. There's a couple of spoilers in there though so be careful if you would rather wait to see the film in it's entirety. Otherwise enjoy!

Conor Maynard: Can't Say No (Video)

Britian's newest singing star Brighton lad Conor Maynard is a huge talent. There's comparisons we could make but instead we'll just agree that if the likes of Pharell and Jermaine Dupri think he's good enough to work with and having recently beaten a whole load of talent including Lianne La Havas and Clement Marfo & The Frontline to top MTV's Brand New for 2012 list, oh and his incredibly good taste allowing G-Shock to star in his video the YouTube phenomenon is one to keep your eye on.

Rihanna: Where Have You Been (Video)

Ri-Ri can currently be found on the big screen in new film 'Battleship', in TIME magazine's Top 100 most influential list and as of today doing her thing on the dancefloor in new video 'Where Have You Been'. Feast your eyes on this guys.

Keep an ear out for the forthcoming Takura featuring 'Have A Go' which both Toddla T and Annie Mac have been spinning on their BBC Radio 1 shows.

Billionaires Boys Club x Mark McNairy Collaboration

Fashion bloggers have been hyping this collaboration up no end and we're sure they won't be disappointed. Everyone's favourite uber stylish producer Pharell and his Billionaire Boys Club brand don't normally have a problem attracting customers. The brogues above though are rather special featuring the skills of British cordwainer, Sanders and the simple yet slick and effective designs of Mark McNairy. Their reasonable (considering BBC's prestige) price tag of £385 makes them a winner in our eyes plus the  contrasting red, blue and yellow soles update the classic brogue further but not too much ensuring they'll be a wardrobe staple.

Wretch 32 Ft. Ed Sheeran: Hush Little Baby (Video)

Two of the most talented artists out there, Wretch 32 and Ed Sheeran have got together for this beauty of a song, 'Hush Little Baby' now with the added visuals we're sure when the single is released next month justice will be done. iTunes pre-orders of the single bundle are already going on though so if you like the thought of a Rudimental or Wideboys refix then click here.

Bassboy: Yes (Here We Go)

If you follow Birmingham producer Bassboy on Twitter you know he's got plenty of banter but what he's also got is skills when it comes to his productions. Current instrumental 'Yes' has been attacked by just about every MC out there from Frisco, Elro, C4, J2K, Discarda and more. You can listen to the track below and grab the download exclusively via Beatport on 30th April.

Diplo: 128 Beats Per Minute

Ever wondered why Diplo's music is like no others and has such a widespread appeal? Well, the answer may very well lie in his new book '128 Beats Per Minute', a visual journey through the very cultures, places and music from around the world which continue to inspire him. Grab yourself a copy from Urban Outfitters if you'd like to get more of an insight into his musical mind.

Neighbourhood Watch: Trailer

There's not much dialogue in the trailer for this comedy starring Jonah Hill, Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn and our very own Richard Ayoade (IT Crowd fans know already) but you just know it's going to be jokes with this type of casting. The funny men play suburban dads doing their duty for the neighbourhood, look out for the film hitting screens on 29th August.

Purple Ferdinand: Beautiful Anomaly (Acoustic Video)

Vanessa aka Purple Ferdinand has a whole bag of talent not only a skilled songstress she's a dab hand with the old tattoo gun too having inked up everyone from Ed Sheeran to SBTV founder Jamal. Rejoice in the acoustic video above of Ferdinand's 'Beautiful Anomaly' and get following the woman on Twitter whilst you're at it.

Usher: Climax (Diplo remix)

The song's producer returns to what is an early contender for Track of 2012 (alongside Bieber's new one, of course), to make it a little more dancefloor friendly. Oh Diplo, you are spoiling us...!

D Double: Pumpin It Out (remix)

Who doesn't love an all-star remix?! The brilliant D Double E grabs Kano, Footsie, JME, Hyper and Rapid on this grimy refix of Pumpin It Out.

This miiight not be #safeforwork or one you'll want to play around mumzie (well, Kano's verse anyway), but it really deserves at least two rewinds. If not three.

Huge!

Casio-GW-4000D: Esquire approved

Making this month's 'Want List' in Esquire is the Casio-GW-4000D. Developed and designed with help from the RAF ski-team, this timepiece is not only a beautiful piece of design but it pushes technological boundaries.

Casio went to join the team in Saalbach, Austria, to see how the watch has become a central figure for both training and competitions. Solar-power, world time and shock resistant features are of course standard, but the GW-4000D can withstand extreme temperature and altitude conditions as well as 12 G's of force. For those that need to know exact time, then the 1/100th of a second stopwatch comes in handy, as does the beeper alarm.

Check the video to see how the RAF's Nathan Jones and his team utilise this imperssive watch.

 For stockists, just click here.

Casio: Covent Garden Concept Store

Casio opens a brand new concept store in London this Saturday. Situated in the heart of Covent Garden, the two level, 933 sq ft shop is a triumph in both urban aesthetics and premium cool.

Upstairs is where you can expect to find all things G-Shock Premium; whether that's the Mr-G - the first time the £2500 watch has been available outside of Japan - to the motorsports-inspired Edifice as well as a new Premium Women's Line, The Sheen. All this and, of course, the Baby G, G-Shock, G-Shock Premium and the new professional synthesisers.

"We are very excited about the store opening," said Mr. Kudo, MD, Casio UK.

"We think the technological ideas employed in the store really sets us apart from other watch brands," continued Tim Gould, Head of Marketing Director, Casio UK. "This is the first Casio concept store internationally, timing with the forthcoming release of the Sheen and G-Shock's 30th birthday later this year."

The super-cool inshore design - all exposed brickwork and industrial wireframe mounted displays - features Lampless projectors (lightbulb free!), projection mapping (so you get 3D models of the watches) and interactive displays.

Upstairs is where you'll find the Mr-G, Premium and Edifice lines, downstairs, in the brilliant basement, is an explosion of colours with Baby-G, G-Shock and the Casio sythensisers.

Casio Store UK, Covent Garden Piazza opens this Saturday.

The Art Of Rap: Trailer

You can never have too many rap documentaries, in my opinion. This one, directed by Ice T, is beautifully shot and for once features the whole spectrum of rap; from KRS-1 and Marley Marl to Doug E Fresh, Salt N Pepa, Kanye, Snoop and Dre.

Can't wait for this to drop in June, this looks like a truly thorough and entertaining watch that really does deep inside the hearts and minds of Hip Hop.

Looper: Trailer

Imagine you're Joseph Gordan-Levitt living in the now as an assassin for the future. One day, your future self (Bruce Willis) arrives and you have to kill yourself.

Confused?

Yes, us too. But this film, from writer and director Rian Johnston, looks a bit great.

Looper is due on later this year.

Frank Ocean: Coachella

While we're on the subject, WHY AREN'T WE AT COACHELLA!

The Dre/ Snoop/ Em show looked absolutely amazing and so, of course, did this performance by Frank Ocean.

J. Cole: Sideline Story

To be honest, it's taken a while to really get with J Cole. In some ways, Tinie's Hate It Or Love It finally saw our ears turn to tune in properly to the Jay-Z signee.

As many already now, he's not only a talented rhymer, but he's also the owner of one of the finest cadences we've heard in hip hop for a while.

Here's the new single from the Carolina rhymer, shot in various European cities. A solid thumbs up.

Sway: Bad Manners

Little Derek is so good for a remix; this time he takes on Plan B's Ill Manors and delivers, as ever a dizzying array of brilliant punchlines spat, as the track plays out, at mindbending speed.

"Gangsta rap I ever claimed to be/ Wake up, brush my teeth, that's the only time I aim and squeeze."

Ohh!

This young woman was about last year, but we slept on her a little bit. Well, there will be no more snoozing on the job from us! Touted as 'Annie, Goldfrapp and Kylie rolled into one' we are big fans of both QOH's electro-popness and veh cool look. This is music to dance and wave your arms about to.

OFWGKTA: Newsnight

Paxman's pal popped down to the OF pop-up store off Brick Lane to find out why and how the LA crew are giving away music for free, but making up for it with merch.

Standard tricky OF interview scenario, as you can imagine. 'What are your lyrics saying?' 'Nothing. Sh*t to p*ss off old white people like you." Oh Tyler,...!

Elro Ft. The D.O.T: Bad News

Elro, straight outta Wales, is a new 22 year-old rapper with some history - 1.5 million views for his SBTV F64, jam sessions with Ed Sheeran and now he's the latest signing to Mike Skinner's newly refurbished The Beats label. We are liking this track a lot. And we're not the only ones. Over 40k views in a day. Nice work boys!

Time For: DJ Neptizzle

Afrobeat is the hottest sound around right now. With D'Banj signing to Kanye West and an influx of massive tracks spreading from west Africa throughout Europe, the UK, Japan and the US, Afrobeats is about to do to Africa what Dubstep did to Croydon and Grime to Bow!

To get a proper understanding of the scene, then there's one mixtape you have to check out. Azonto, mixed by premier Afrobeats DJ Neptizzle is a mind-blowing whirlwind of tunes that have been, are currently or are about to be huge. We meet the Vietnamese Londoner to find out more about Azonto and Afrobeats..

How does a guy from Vietnam, living in London, end up DJing African music!?
I guess I’m just a product of my society. I was raised in Hackney, East London and 99% of my friends were either African or Caribbean. I started out heavily into the grime scene in 2003, playing out and experimenting with producing stuff when one of my boys introduced me properly to High Life/ Hip Life. He gave me a CD full of songs and gave me a week to learn the tracks as he wanted me to DJ at his event. I was thinking to myself, there's no way I can play this music. A week later I dropped it at the party and the crowd response was crazy. From then on I was hooked and here I am today.

Can you explain your choice of DJ name?
I used to love The Neptune's and it came from one of my friends trying to take the p*ss out of me but it stuck!

For those that haven't been, can you explain the atmosphere at an Afrobeats night in the UK?
It’s a party vibe… pure party vibes so expect champagne bottles, beautiful women and some serious dance moves from the beginning till when the security kicks you out.

The Azonto mixtape. For those that have NO IDEA about Afrobeats, please can you tell us what to expect?
The thing about the music is, even if you don’t understand the lyrics, the underlying thing is dancing. This is party music. So I don’t need to say anything, download my mixtape here and dance. Azonto is a type of dance that originated in Ghana… It’s a call and response type vibe and anyone who starts doing it will get hooked. So be warned, you will be azonto-ing to everything here on after. Check out an exclusive Wretch32 remix to a very popular song on the mix cd too. Wretch goes in!

Dbanj is looking to be this year's big breakthrough. Do you think he could be the one to bring Afrobeats to the UK charts? Who else should we be checking out?
Dbanj is definitely the guy to bring Afrobeats into the mainstream. He is an entertainer and anyone who has ever seen him live knows the energy he brings. He also has a great producer behind him in Don Jazzy, who is an absolute genius. And now with Kanye West co-signing the movement, these are exciting times. Also, check out Tiwa Savage and Wizkid. These guys are massive!

Why do you think Afrobeats is finally starting to see success, both in the UK and beyond?
I don’t think it is any one thing but lots of different reasons. First, the social media just made the world so much smaller. So I used to play at African parties, weddings, christenings and so on, those people then travel and share music with each other much faster online as opposed to mix cds that would trade hands before. Also the music is just getting better and better and people here in the UK are championing their own music and the mix of western upbringing balanced with the old skool. It’s great. But the fact the music is being supported en mass by its own people outside of the African continent is so key.

What's the toughest part of your job?
The toughest part is staying ahead of trends. I’m not trying to be on time, playing tunes when they are supposed to be played. I’m trying to change what time it is - my G-Shock helps!

What's the toughest decision you've made?
I guess when I had to ask myself if I could make a living from my passion. I had to seriously ask myself  "Do I leave my day job to become a full time Afrobeats DJ?" The fact that you're reading this article right now just shows how much of a right decision it was to leave.

Where can people next see you play?
Check my website here for where I will be. It’s been so busy and I am constantly up and down the length and breadth of the UK and am often in Ghana, Paris and Amsterdam… But be sure to come down and dance to some Afrobeats, Afrohouse you name it, the vibe will be there. Also check out Hotter Than You on May 18 in Dalston, east London.

The Newsroom: Trailer

West Wing fans rejoice - Aaron Sorkin is back with a bang. The Newsroom features more Sorkin style brilliance; great scripts, brilliant characters and cliffhanger closers. Starring Jeff 'Dumb and Dumber' Daniels, Jane 'Leg-warmers' Fonda and our own Dev 'Slumdog Millionaire' Patel, the series is set in the all-important powerful newsroom that focuses on American politics.

Not premiering on HBO until June, we might have to wait a few months before it hits our shores, but we're sure it will be more than worth it.

Ted: Trailer

Seth MacFarlane, he of Family Guy fame moves into movieland with this Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis starring feature.

Some of the languge is #NSFW, we're also going to sit on the fence until this comes out - mixing animation with actors and comedy, this looks like it could be an 'interesting' watch.

DJ Fresh Ft. Dizzee Rascal: The Power

This year's David Guetta (in a good way) hits hard again with another future smash. Linking up with Dizzee Rascal the 'Hot Right Now' producer looks likely to be back at the top of the charts when this tune drops.
