I am well excited to be taking part in the Casio G-Shock 30th Anniversary Awards in association with Dazed & Confused.
To celebrate the Big 30, G-Shock and Dazed are on the hunt for emerging talent across music, fashion, art and sport. A prize of £3000 will be awarded to a winner in each category by a carefully selected panel of experts.
As well as myself, the judges are: DJ and broadcaster Mary Anne Hobbs; Milo Cordell, half of The Big Pink and owner of Merok Records; and Tim 'badman' Noakes, Dazed's deputy editor.
The nominees for music include Birmingham MC Lady Leshur; producer and writer Royce Wood Junior; Ipswich musician and former art student Deptford Goth; industrial techno-disco-electronic producer Thefft; future music producer Booty Thrill; experimental duo Blue On Blue; throwback R&B two AlunaGeorge (pic); audio/visual colelctive Vondelpark curated by Lewis Rainsbury; Swedish dubstepper Elliphant and elusive pop producer Holy Other.
