Carhartt: Shoreditch Opening

Joining our own G-Shock EAST store, Carhartt have just opened a new store in London's fashionable east end. Down on Shoreditch High St (next to the Baron E coffee shop), the space is rather beautifully designed and handily stocked with all your favourites from the brand.

Here's a short about the store's creation.

Mr Cartoon: Thailand

MISTER CARTOON . BANGKOK . DYLAN MADDUX from Dylan Maddux on Vimeo.

One of the world's leading tattooists, Mr. Cartoon has inked everyone you'd care to name (nearly) from Eminem to Justin, Dr. Dre to Snoop. In this short, he heads to Thailand to do what he does best, with photographer Dylan Maddux there to capture it all. Beautifully filmed, it's a rare opportunity to see inside the mind of this anatomical artist.

Sway: Level Up

Following the success of his last single, Little Derek keeps it bassy with this rumbler from Flux Pavillion. Also featuring a certain Toobes from Soccer Am, watch out for remixes from Fake Blood and Blame. Love the Hills/ Idols/ Neighbours line!

Time For: Smiler

Just about to wrap up the Mobo UK Tour (Norwich this evening is the last date), Smiler is a name on many lips right now. Not only a lovely young man, he's rather talented too. Whether making songs with a then unknown Lana Del Ray (Spender), signing to Warner, working with Wretch 32 on the Zane Lowe hyped Delorean, or dropping a free mixtape, All I Know (generous), we predict this south London rapper is going to have a great 2012.

We had a quick word with the 26 year-old to see what he had to say for himself.

How did you hook up with old Lana?
We were just working in the same studio one day and got talking. We got on really well and she ended up putting down the vocals to Spender. She's a great girl, I can't believe how huge she's become. She definitely deserves all her success.

Lana, signing a deal, working with Wretch... it's looking good for you.
We don't deviate too far from the plan; initially it's just make great music and continue as we mean to go on, that's it. I think a lot of people spend a lot of time trying to forecast the direction in which it's gonna go and try to adapt themselves or their careers to the journey of the game. You can fall flat on your face by doing that because you're not standing for anything.

You've had shout-out from everyone from Nas to DJ Premier. Why do you think people are feeling you so much?
I'm very intricate with flows, there's a lot of depth to what I represent and what I convey in my music. At the same time it's very captivating by tone and feel good too. I'm just trying to make the best music I can make and be the best that I can be. That may sound simple, but it's a lot of hard work!

Tyler Shields: Beyond The Gates

For the art fans among us, check out this new photographic exhibition by 'controversial' artist Shields, known by some as Hollywood's favourite photographer. Beyond The Gates is the follow-up to Shields successful debut show in London last year (which featured pictures of Mischa Barton licking raw steak an a blood soaked Lindsey Lohan), this time featuring images of his girlfriend Francesca Eastwood (daughter of Clint).

On now until 19 March at Imitate Modern, 27a Devonshire St, London W1G, get your eyes some interesting views this month!

Neighbourhood Watch: Trailer

This looks absolutely lolsome. Stiller and Vince Vaughn represent for the older comedy crew, while Jonah Hill and our very own Richard Ayoade show and prove for the newer talent. This trailer, utilising the best keyboard intro ever made, has us very excited about seeing the comedy, due out very soon.

Slightly wary of the alien storyline that apparently is in the mix, but we'll give this the benefit of the doubt until we've seen it.

Contraband: Clip

From the man with the most amazing voice in the world (Marky Mark) comes this new film, Contraband, a remake of an Icelandic film, Reykjavik-Rotterdam. Also starring Kate Beckinsale and Giovanni Ribisi, the movie tells the tale of an ex-smuggler (Wahlberg) on the straight and narrow who has to return to a life of crime to help his wife's (Beckinsale) brother escape the wrath of the mob.

RWD got their hands on this scene which should whet most appetites as Wahlberg wrestles with his options. Pretty much anything Mark W does is brilliant, so we're looking forward to watching this when it drops later this month (16 March).
